Coaching for Respect

Coaching for Respect Facilitator

Program description:

Our workplaces are experiencing unprecedented levels of disrespectful language and behaviors. These behaviors are not always unlawful, but they nevertheless negatively impact work relationships, teamwork, morale, and important organizational goals.

There are three types of respect in organizations: informational, procedural, and interpersonal respect. The Coaching for Respect program focuses on interpersonal respect and works through a process to restore interpersonal respect between willing co-workers. The expected result of this coaching is being able to work effectively together as part of a functioning team. Three key understandings provide a framework for the coaching process:

  1. You do not have to like someone to work with them; you do have to have some level of respect for them.
  2. It takes two to tango.
  3. I can control only me!
